Join a health walk

Exercise can make you more healthy, happier and you can even meet new friends (want to see the evidence?)

On OutdoorsWest, we're bringing together the information you need to explore the Outdoors in this area, such as maps and routes to download yourself.

But, if you don't want to head out on your own, and want to join in with other people, you might think about going along to a group walk. Walks are provided by lots of organisations, for example, local groups of the Ramblers Association.

If you're just getting started, a Walk for Health might be just what you want.

You can sign up in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol or South Gloucestershire, to regular walks led by experienced leaders, for short walks of an hour or less, or, when you are ready, for something a bit longer... They're not route marches, they're designed to ease you into walking and, importantly, about you enjoying yourself.

Walking to Health by Age UK Bath & North East Somerset

Gentle exercise such as walking can improve physical, mental and social wellbeing. Age UK Bath and North East Somerset runs a programme of walks aimed particularly at older people.

Our walks are gentle, friendly and welcoming. We do not rush our walkers, we always have trained volunteers who lead the walk and give support where needed.
